Kabbalah explains that it was possible to prevent the current financial crisis, and it is still possible to prevent crises that may happen in the future. It describes the current financial crisis, as well as all others, as being nature’s way of teaching humanity. And if humanity learns from these lessons, then society will be able to live “lesson-free” in the future.
Why Did the Financial Crisis and All Past Crises Occur?
Kabbalists believe that humanity could have bypassed the current financial crisis if people had realized what the previous crises were trying to display. Mounting problems such as increasing discord in families, a high divorce rate, growing suicide rates, increasing cases of drug abuse, widespread depression, terrorism, to name but a few, began in the middle of the twentieth century.
That period marked a “breaking point” in humanity’s development, Kabbalists believe. Since that time, humanity’s realization of its improving interpersonal connections could have solved any problem that arose. For instance, better relationships between people would provide peace at home, a healthy upbringing for children, and a better relationship with nature and the environment.
Kabbalists' Theory on the Cause of Society's Crises
Kabbalists believe that humanity failed to notice the common element in all crises, or in other words, their purposeful nature. Simply put, the cause of troubles lies in the faulty connections between people, and people have failed to see this. This is the source reason for the arrival to the global financial crisis.
However, Kabbalah also states that today, people are more qualified, more developed internally, to recognize the cause of the crisis and every other problem in life.
Kabbalah's Solution to the Financial Crisis
Kabbalists believe that the recognition of a person’s selfish nature must necessarily be followed by action. People have to do everything they can to implement the solution to the crisis – to improve human relationships and attitudes toward fellow humans.
This means changing each one’s attitude from “seeking to be number one” to “humanity is all one family.” Kabbalah states that if people fail to implement this change in attitude, then the inner distance between people will disclose itself more and more in negative ways. In other words, it would mean a crisis far greater than the current financial ordeal. Moreover, the crises will continue to grow, one after another, until people recognize the reason for their condition – selfish human nature – and work to correct it.
Kabbalah states that humanity need not reach the point of greater crises than the current one, just as it did not have to reach this current financial crisis. It states that all of the crises are happening only in order for people to reveal the enormous egoism that separates them, and to correct it by building connections of kindness and consideration for one other.
